#NAVCODER SERIAL PC#
I don't know of any readily available device that can be 'told' to broadcast one iBus message when it receives another, except for a PC program. For example, most CD Changer type interfaces (Soundgate, Connects2 etc.) use this approach, they have a simple CPU (or even a PIO) that looks for CD Changer messages and acts on them, sending messages back to the radio. The logic mechanism could be a PC with a program running on it or any small dedicated CPU that you can program up. That means you need an iBus interface (like the Resler one) and some simple logic mechanism. In order to assign a function to an unused button, for example the phone keys on the MFL when you have no phone installed, you need to have some device that's capable of reading iBus messages, acting upon specific messages and sending out new messages. Would you need a full-on computer, or would a chipset with proper programming be capable of this task? Could you elaborate some more? Pretty much all the buttons in the car send iBus messages when they are pressed, not all but most. This basically means having a computer of some sort installed in your car, there are some devices that have hard coded reassignments and a few that allow user selectable assignments, but generally you're looking at having a PC installed in the car. However, if you have a device that can intercept iBus messages you can detect the press of an unused button and send the codes for any key you like.
#NAVCODER SERIAL MOD#
I've always wanted to mod my phone button to be the DSC button, especially on my X5, as in the winter I'm always turning my DSC on and off depending on how icy the road is (its easier and quicker to accelerate on ice with it OFF) Are those buttons programmable via Ibus? Butons are not programable as such. Its written in VB6, and was started in 2006.
